Entering a new season brings promises and opportunities for change. If you’re undecided about what you want to achieve over the next 30 days, make it easy on yourself and start with simple habits of successful women that you can start this month.

Success means different things to different people.  But one thing I think we can agree on is, the women of the world who have accomplished amazing and outstanding accolade’s within their field, must be doing something we mere mortals are not!

But that doesn’t mean we can’t!

When I made the commitment to change my life in 2017, I was starting at rock bottom.  Throughout my journey I’ve learned that adopting simple habits was the biggest catalyst to making a lasting impact on the things I needed to change.

Challenge Yourself

If you want something different, you have to do something different!  I spent countless years wishing and waiting for my life to change, without actually making the uncomfortable decision to do something about it. 

Successful women are constantly challenging themselves because they know it’s the only way to grow. This challenge can come in many forms.  From facing your fears, taking a course or managing your finances. To eating healthier, reaching out to others or finding a new career.  The choice is endless.  But the choice is always yours!

Why not challenge yourself to come out of your comfort zone this month and give yourself the chance to grow. 

Wake up Earlier

I used to be a fully fledge night owl. Staying up as late as possible and then being absolutely furious when the alarm went off in the morning. However, when I challenged myself to lose weight, it actually created the habit of wanting to wake up early. (Check out my post: Weight loss Tricked Me Into Being a Morning Person)

One thing I know – every interview, podcast, video or biography I have encountered from successful women, attribute waking up early as one of their daily habits. Those early hours first thing in the morning provide the optimal time for reflection, wellbeing and preparation. 

How about setting your alarm clock back 5 mins each day and gradually start this tried and true habit from successful women this month?

Before my crisis in 2017, I could not tell you the last time I read a book. However, this simple habit, got me from auto-pilot to being the captain of my life.  Now I’m an avid reader, averaging around 25 – 30 books a year.

All successful women advocate the creation of a reading habit. Not only as a tool to learn and challenge yourself, but also as a key to open your mind to new possibilities. If you’re looking for a way to kickstart your reading habit this month, check out my  handpicked books to get you going. 

Write down your goals

So you’re going to challenge yourself, start waking up early, read more books, but what is your goal?  

In order to succeed in anything in life, you need to identify something you’re working towards. I (as you know) am an avid goal setter. I just love the whole goal setting process, tracking my actions, getting the reward I promised myself once completed and the knowledge that I’m making progress.  There’s no better feeling.

All successful women have their own system to facilitate their goal setting habit.  Without it, what would they be working towards?  Setting goals gives you focus, allows you to follow a plan and keeps you accountable to yourself. 

Of all the successful habits above, the one I urge you to start this month is to write down your goals. And then, make a list of actions you will have to take to achieve it.  Even if you don’t take action immediately, at least you will have a starting point towards the direction you want to grow over the next few months.  Write it down!

There you have it.  My list of the simple habits of successful women you can start this month.  I told you they were simple! 

Of course there are hundreds of other habits that can be added to the list, but my motto is ‘make it easy’.  What’s the point of being bombarded with an overwhelming expectation?

Take it slow and incorporate the four habits above over the next 30 days. Little by little, I promise you will see a huge difference in your day and mindset.
