It's good to take a break from life every now and then. But the hardest part is getting back on the horse. As I've been dealing with my own motivation issues, I needed some inspiration. I love a good quote and mantra, so these motivational quotes to overcome procrastination are just what I needed.
My levels of procrastination have been on overdrive. I’m talking half written blogs, clothes needing to be folded, filing to sort, appointments to be made. I’ve been blaming it on work, family commitments, the change in season or having no time. But in all honesty, I’m just avoiding making decisions. But eureka! Over the last 48 hours, I’ve been more aware of my procrastination triggers and have been overriding my excuses. (Hence completed blog post!)
Sometimes, the only motivation you need is getting tired of your own bullsh*t.
Are you currently struggling with getting things done? Maybe these motivational quotes to overcome procrastination will give you some momentum to start making moves.
Feel free to screenshot, download or share any quote that gives you a spark to take action or you think someone else may benefit from.
My favourite motivational quote to overcome procrastination is: “You can’t get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good.”
Motivational Quotes to Overcome Procrastination

“Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait.
The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don’t count.”
– Robert Anthony

“Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that they know will result if they move ahead now. Because success is heavy, carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the ‘someday I’ll’ philosophy.”
– Denis Waitley

“So what do we do? Anything. Something. So long as we just don’t sit there. If we screw it up, start over. Try something else. If we wait until we’ve satisfied all the uncertainties, it may be too late.”
— Lee Iacocca

“When you procrastinate and do something that makes you feel momentarily good, you get a reward. The problem is you never get to the source of the negative emotions that cause you to avoid the task in the first place.”
— Fuschia Sirois

“In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do,
the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
– Theodore Roosevelt

“Success is not obtained overnight.
It comes in instalments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out.
The day you procrastinate, you lose that day’s success.”
― Israelmore Ayivor

“Thinking too much leads to paralysis by analysis.
It’s important to think things through, but many use thinking as a means of avoiding action.”
― Robert Herjavec

“Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day.
Rich people can’t buy more hours. Scientists can’t invent new minutes. And you can’t save time to spend it on another day.
Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving.
No matter how much time you’ve wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow.”
― Denis Waitley

“You may even welcome the distraction. But if you use it as an excuse for not doing what you are supposed to do, you can blame no one but yourself.
If you truly wish to accomplish something, you should allow nothing to stop you, and chances are you’ll succeed.”
― Julie Andrews

“If you have goals and procrastination, you have nothing.
If you have goals and you take action, you will have anything you want.”
― Thomas J. Vilord

The last one made me laugh – this was me all week!
I think knowing why I was procrastinating and actually admitting it to myself has helped shake the monkey off my back. Hey, the next few steps I take towards my goals may not be perfect – But I am moving forward!
