How I'm Dealing with Imposter Syndrome - I AM BRAZEN SPIRIT

How I’m Dealing with Imposter Syndrome

Imposter syndrome makes you feel like you don't deserve success or you're not as capable as others perceive you to be. It's been a big personal struggle! But it's not going to hold me back!

I’ve just finished my first month of being fully self employed. And to be honest I’ve been feeling like an imposter. Despite all the preparation I did in the months leading up to my self employment liberation, making the adjustment in both my mind and my time has been a challenge.

This challenge has led me to doubt myself and I’ve been feeling a full emotional dose of imposter syndrome!!

These same feelings and thoughts came up when I started my Brazen journey all those years ago;

  • Can I really do this?
  • Am I capable of starting something new at this stage in my life?
  • Do I really deserve to be in a position to build a better life?

My imposter syndrome has been in full swing!

Click the video below to find out why I’m feeling this way and how I’m dealing with it.

In addition to the video, here are some more of my tips on how to deal with imposter syndrome and embrace it to work in your favour.

Acknowledge Your Feelings:

The first step to overcoming imposter syndrome is to acknowledge your feelings. It’s okay to feel like you don’t deserve your success. Everyone feels that way sometimes.

Talk to Someone You Trust:

Talking to someone you trust, such as a friend, family member, or therapist, can help you to normalise your feelings and get some perspective.

Focus on your accomplishments:

Make a list of all of your accomplishments, big and small. This will help you to see that you are capable and deserving of success.

Challenge your negative thoughts:

When you start to have negative thoughts about yourself, challenge them. Ask yourself if there is any evidence to support those thoughts.

Set realistic goals:

Don’t set yourself up for failure by setting unrealistic goals. Break down your goals into smaller, more manageable steps.

Celebrate your successes:

When you achieve a goal, take some time to celebrate your success. This will help you to build confidence and self-esteem.

Imposter syndrome in particular, makes you feel like you don’t deserve success or you’re not as capable as others perceive you to be.

It’s been a big personal struggle!  But it’s also important I share it with you.

This emotion is normal and you’re not alone when it comes to feeling doubtful whilst working towards the life you want to build.

The key is to not let it hold you back – It is not a reflection of your true worth.
