Life is ALOT right now! With everything that’s going on in the world, no wonder our energy levels are down. Each day seems to bring a new challenge in our personal life and the world around us. It’s so easy to accept the way we are feeling as being normal. However, feeling drained, fatigued or mentally and physically exhausted is NOT normal.
Although it feels that we have no control, we have! We are in control of ourselves.

Exercise to Get Energised
Well you knew this was this first thing on my list!
Exercise gives you an instant energy boost. Yes, a lot of times you don’t even want to put your gym clothes on, but once you do – game changer! Even if you only do a 5 minute HITT to get your heart beating and build a sweat. It’s the one thing guaranteed to shift your mood and change your energy.
Write It Down, Let It Out
Our energy can be zapped by the things that are going on inside our head. A great way to release yourself from any heavy feelings you have, is to write it down. Write it ALL down. Once it’s out of our heads and onto paper, the feeling of overwhelm is released.
Free up your mental energy by writing down everything that springs to mind. You don’t even have to keep what you’ve written down. Just use the paper and pen to get it out of your head.
Get Better Sleep
Everyone who knows me personally, knows I love to sleep! What you may not know is the importance of having the right ‘sleep pattern’ to get maximum energy each day.
This means working out how much sleep you need and then going to bed and waking up at the same time. You’ll be amazed the difference to your energy levels throughout the day once your body clock is in a good sleep rhythm.
The amount of time spent complaining without problem solving, truly robs us of the energy reserves we have.
Focusing on the solution instead of the problem will shift your energy to creative mode – much more enhancing, productive and better for your overall mindset and energy.
Avoid Negative Influences
This is probably one of the hardest things to do but clearing your external life of negative influences will change your whole vibe and also the energy you yourself transmit.
We are constantly hit with negative energy and influences that it is hard to recognise. It can come from family members, work colleagues, the things we watch on TV and what we seek on social media. Negativity can be people, places or anything that can drain your energy or emotions.
Get clear on your boundaries with other people and also be mindful of the things you are exposing yourself to via the media.
Take Responsibility For How You Feel
It’s so easy to blame other people for the way you feel – it’s the human condition! But it’s time to stop! You are responsible for how you react to everything you experience.
It’s so easy to get sucked in to the vacuum of popular opinion and get worked up defending or reputing facts and figures. But how does it make you feel?
No matter what’s going on around you, chose the reaction that is going to have the most positive impact on your emotional health and well being.
The fact that humans and the planet are both 70% water, is a clear indication of just how important water is to all life.
A lot of the time, when we feel irritable, sluggish or lacking in energy, all we need is water. Just as the neglected plant in the corner of my living room perks up within minutes of me watering in – that’s what happens to our whole cellular system every time we drink water.

Utilise Compassion and Kindness
Doing something compassionate or kind for someone else does a magical thing to your own energy.
It doesn’t have to be anything big! Just a smile, a kind word or a listening ear, can make all the difference to someones life – and your own for giving it.
There is in fact research which shows people who regularly show kindness to others enjoy better mental and physical health and more meaningful relationships.
Instead of looking through your usual social media feed, reading the same newspapers or watching the same TV shows – look for inspiration elsewhere to raise your energy.
We can be so fixed in our current mindset that it makes us believe the world is only the way we see it. Seek out books, podcast, videos or music that will lift your energy vibration and remind you that there is so much more good in the world, than what you may be seeing or experiencing.
